Liposuction

Before and After gallery

Liposuction is a viable option for patients who, after diet and exercise, still experience dissatisfaction with extra deposits of fatty tissue in certain parts of their body. Excess fat can be a result of poor weight management, but it can also be hereditary. Patients look to liposuction as an enhancement or next step to healthy efforts. Excess fat can be removed from multiple locations on the body, including, but not limited to:

  • Hips
  • Thighs
  • Abdomen
  • Arms
  • Waist

The liposuction procedure involves making a small incision, made in the treatment area, through which Dr. Quinn inserts a metal tube called a cannula. The cannula is used to gently suck away the excess fat cells within the treatment area. Once the appropriate amount of fat has been removed, Dr. Quinn closes the incision site.

Recovery following liposuction is relatively short, but it may take some time for you to see the final results.  Initially, compression garments may be used to reduce post-surgery swelling. You may also undergo processes to drain excess fluids or have medication administered as a precaution for infection.  All pre and post-surgical decisions will be discussed with you by Dr. Quinn to ensure treatment satisfaction.

As your body adjusts to its new shape, the skin may at first appear loose. However, normally the skin tightens around the new, slimmer figure, and the results are completely natural-looking. It is entirely possible that no one will ever know that you had liposuction at all.

Please schedule a consultation at our practice in Overland Park near Kansas City. Liposuction may be appropriate for you, but we would like to consult with you first so that you may make an informed decision.
