Restylane® Injections

Restylane® is a facial filler that reduces facial wrinkles, creases, and lines, whether deep or fine, that are not caused by overactive facial muscles and therefore cannot be effectively treated with BOTOX® injections. It can also be used to add volume to the lips and cheeks. Restylane® is a synthesized version of hyaluronic acid, a compound that occurs naturally in the body. With just a few injections, Restylane® can fill wrinkles and creases, restoring fullness and volume to these areas for many months to come.

At our Overland Park practice, Restylane® can be applied in approximately half an hour. A thin needle is used, and the discomfort associated with this treatment is minimal. Injections are gently made into wrinkles and lines on the patient’s face. After the procedure, patients may want to recover at home. Though there is no significant downtime after Restylane® is administered, patients may experience slight redness, swelling, tenderness, bruising, and itching. The results are visible immediately – the wrinkles will be substantially diminished, and the face will look smoother and more youthful overall. The longevity of the results will vary depending on the type of treatment the patient chooses, but most patients enjoy their results for six to nine months.
