IPL Photofacial
IPL (intense pulsed light) rejuvenation is a treatment for the skin designed to correct skin imperfections such as birthmarks, enlarged pores, facial redness, freckles, acne, small veins, and signs of sun damage. In this non-invasive procedure, a special xenon flash lamp is used to target areas of darker pigmentation in the skin. Your IPL specialist will tailor the treatment to your specific needs for the best cosmetic result possible. As light energy is applied to the face during the IPL treatment, the patient will feel a “snap” similar to that produced by a rubber band contacting the skin, resulting in what many patients describe as mild discomfort. In most cases, it takes less than 30 minutes to complete each treatment. There is no recovery time associated with the IPL procedure. Afterwards, patients may look slightly sunburned, but this redness can be covered with makeup. They can return to work immediately and will not feel significant discomfort after the procedure.
Patients will need more than one treatment to see their best results; on average, patients require five to eight treatments with three-week intervals in between visits to our Overland Park and Kansas City-area office. However, even after the first IPL treatment, most patients notice a difference – the skin will feel smoother and have a more attractive, even tone. As the treatment continues, sun spots will start to fade, wrinkles will become less visible, and the skin will look more smooth and youthful overall.
Laser Hair Removal
Traditional hair removal is an inconvenient, endless process. In contrast, laser hair removal is simple, effective, and permanent. In fact, many patients enjoy an 80 to 90 percent reduction in hair growth after the laser hair removal procedure. This treatment is versatile as well – undesired hair can be removed from all parts of the body, including the legs, arms, underarms, back, and bikini line.

At Quinn Medical Day Spa, LightSheer® technology is used to penetrate the skin’s surface and target the hair bulbs that lie just below the skin. During this procedure, patients may experience mild discomfort similar to the sensation of a rubber band snapping against the skin. For the most part, though, it is an extremely gentle treatment, and your laser hair removal specialist will make the procedure as comfortable as possible for you.

Laser hair removal patients experience no downtime after treatment. In most cases, more than one treatment will be necessary to remove the unwanted hair.
