Feeling a bit overwhelmed and don’t know where to start on your post-augmentation shopping spree? Here are four wardrobe must-haves to add to your shopping list after having breast augmentation.

1. New bras for your new chest size

After your body has healed and your plastic surgeon gives you the go-ahead to start shopping for clothes, head to your favorite bra store first, since your old bras will no longer fit properly. You’ll need new bras in a larger cup size designed to help support any extra breast weight. Don’t hesitate to be adventurous when shopping for bras; try new daring colors and styles.

If you need help selecting comfortable bras that offer the right support and fit properly, ask for help from a bra specialist who works at the bra retailer. A staff member can even take measurements, and recommend brands and styles that will work best for you.

2. New clothing styles will accentuate your new curves

Now that you have new curves and an enhanced silhouette, you’ll need new clothing styles that accentuate your new look. Do the same with clothing as you did with bras: try on bold, daring styles you never tried before your surgery. Experiment with tops and dresses that accentuate your breasts, such as v-necks, scoop necks, and fabrics that cling to every curve. Bring your closest friend or family member for their opinions and feedback as you try on and model new styles.

. Necklaces can add flair to your new bustline

Did you know that certain styles of necklaces can draw extra attention to your bust? After you’ve shopping for clothing, head to the accessories section to look for new necklaces. Avoid necklaces that hit your bustline at the nipple, as well as super long necklaces that fall to one side of your chest, or that swing in front of your breasts.

Instead, find necklaces that cover your “canvas,” which is the exposed skin between your neck and the neckline of your shirt. In many cases, chunky necklaces that stay above the neckline of your shirt are ideal, as well as layered chains, horizontally styled pendants, and necklaces that resemble large bibs. Be creative, and wear bold necklace styles that you generally stayed away from before breast augmentation.

4. Sunscreen will protect your breasts from sun damage

Sunscreen helps protect your breasts from the sun, and reduces your risk for premature wrinkling and sun damage. If you don’t usually use sunscreen, buy new, fresh sunscreen that has an SPF of at least 30. Then, apply sunscreen daily before you leave the house, even on cloudy days. The better you take care of the skin on your chest and breasts, the more rejuvenated your skin will stay for years to come.
